Ethosia's History

How our vibrant past is shaping our nation...

Ethosia was established on January 7th, 2020, declaring its independence as a unitary semi-presidential republic. Ethosia during this period had a President, Prime Minister, and a democratically elected Parliament. Ethosia is the product of historical micronations such as Haston, Arkania, Nordstern, and Victoriam. Ethosian culture is focused on German-American heritage with ambitions to create an Anglo-Saxon state out of the region known as the Ozarks. The area is home to a majority German and Anglo population with many of its inhabitants able to accurately trace their ancestry to Germany and England.

Roaring Summer

Following the events of the April Schism, the Haston Federation would see a path of growth and prosperity spanning from May 2019 to September 2019. Haston would pursue economic plans and establish a formal government with legitimate elections. Citizenship and overall approval of the government was at an all time high as Haston was steadily gaining citizens and government activity was at an all time high.

Haston would begin multiple economic ventures including the "Trash for Cash" initiative where an attempt to build a currency entirely backed on recyclable materials (i.e. aluminum) but it ultimately failed as it was soon discovered that it was nearly impossible to have a currency's value and security back entirely by aluminum cans. This however did not stop Haston from pursuing self sufficient farming and other means of growth. Haston also took part in multiple organizations including the United Sovereignties and even applied for full membership in the Grand Unified Micronational.

Fall of Haston

The Haston Federation would officially dissolve on August 16, 2019 following multiple secessions and a failing administration. The collapse of the Haston Federation is considered to be one of the largest political disasters in Ethosian history to date. Oakwood Crimsonian Socialist Republic, Meanwealth of Gasconade, and the Democratic Republic of Nova would send representatives to the Hastonian Parliament with messages declaring their full sovereignty and independence. It is believed that mass protests from the Haston Worker's Party and destabilization brought from the already failing Kern F. presidency was the nail in the coffin for the Federation.

First Ethosian Nation

Ethosia was established on 7 January 2020 as an independent micronation under the system of a unitary semi-presidential republic. Caudonia Era

On 21 March 2020, a referendum regarding the nation's voluntary annexation into Caudonia was held. The overwhelming majority of citizens voted in favour of annexation, and Gabriel Sebastian, current President and member of the Caudonian Parliament, proposed an annexation bill which promptly passed. Ethosia was officially annexed by Caudonia the following day, and became a county. Since June 2020, a referendum was passed once again granting Ethosia sovereign rule.

Displacement Era

After gaining independence on the 7th of June 2020, Ethosia's government faced a hostile form of diplomatic embargos and was forced to go into exile. The land being formally returned to the United States government and Ethosian peoples being spread all across the continental United States.

Federation of American States Era

Ethosians would find hope in the month of December 2020 when the original leader, Gabriel Sebastian, was granted the position of Governor in the Federation of American States, a micronation dedicated to a reformed America. Sebastian worked hard with the government to recognize Ethosians and Ethosian lands as ethnic territories but to no avail. Sebastian would run for President against the nation's founder, Gabriel Hackman. Hackman would go on to purposely lie to the public and submit fraudulent reports after Sebastian was taking the lead in key states. Once news got out, Sebastian and his government in Missouri declared independence on the 15th of December 2020 from the Federation on the basis that Ethosia was a rightfully independent group that deserved self rule from the tyranny of President Hackman. The Federation and Ethosia to this day have conflicted ties with each other.

Renaissance

In November 2021, President Sebastian would finish the basic draft for the Ethosian constitution and declare a revival of Ethosian politics and diplomacy.

Black January

Black January was a period in the micronational community that lead to a large amount of disruption, chaos, and tensions between multiple micronations. President Gabriel Sebastian would use this opportunity to push for the establishment of a cyber security administration deemed 'Cyber Command'. 

Present Day

In the present year of 2023 Ethosia is ramping for diplomatic and social support for Ukraine and has stood with many others in combatting Russian disinformation. Currently Ethosia is working with its allies to achieve the Euro-Atlantic Cooperation Organization's mission to bring about stronger cooperation, security, and diplomacy between its member states.
